The #2026TempShawl yarns are here!!! I’m sure I’ll need to order additional mini skeins of most of the colors but decided I’d start with just one of each and go from there. All are from Lichen and Lace.
One of the best tools I ever got for my #knitting is an inexpensive (like maybe $10) food scale. I weigh my yarn and finished socks. Doing that has given me a really good sense of how much yarn I’ll need for a given project (like baby socks only need 25-40 grams depending on size). 🧶
I was up to 3 servings of caffeine a day… now that Chike makes a decaf version, I’m going back to 1 serving of high octane on Tues & Fri & decaf the rest of the time. My brain is refusing to function this morning. It’s gonna be a rough couple weeks. And the time change is Sun. Stellar timing. Ugh.
I’m usually barefoot but now that the cold has returned I’m wearing my hand knit socks and Bombas slippers again. But because of my mobility issues Jake has to put them on for me. So now every morning I ask him to bring my feet and specify the socks by their nickname. Today I has long pink feet. 🤣
Prince is in rare feisty form this morning looking for any excuse to bully one of his siblings. Leo and Jazz have taken refuge in the tree. #Cats #LeoCatstoy #Tortie #Jazzabelle
For cuff, heel, and toe it probably takes around 20 grams. But I got full skeins and will do a reverse pair when I finish these.
Finished the just Mojito/Dahlia sock. Time to cast on its mate. #NightlyProgressReport #Knitting #Socks 🧶

The yarn from #EvergreenYarnStudio arrived!! Along with 4 gorgeous super soft skeins of #HandDyed #Yarn she included a pair of Halloween socks, a bunch of Halloween stickers, and an adorable purple ghost stitch marker. #IndieDyer 🧶
Did a few rows on the baby sweater then picked up the Mojito/Dahlia sock. Checked my notes and OMG, I started these back in April when my plan for the year was to make a boatload of just socks. Yarn for this pair (and the opposite pair I’ve planned to do next) is from @thecoppersheep.bsky.social
Slept through both alarms this morning. Thankfully I have additional alarms set for every hour to remind me to get up and stretch during the day. The 9:00 one got me up. Monday is a tryhard today.
So sorry for your loss. What a beautiful boy.
Managed to do three ridges on the temp shawl and get caught up. Then finished the gusset decreases on the 1st Autumn sock. #NightlyProgressReport #Knitting 🧶
It’s gorgeous and perfect!!
Welp, it “only” took me 3 hours to knit 3 ridges on the shawl today. Ugh. Good thing it was the only thing on my todo list today.
Days 297-299
October 24-26

Three more rows of gold for three more days in the 50s with no rain.

I missed Caturday so here’s both of my girls on Sleepy Sunday.
Considering I can throw this thing down the length of my body to work on it, I’m thinking Temperature Throw might be a better name for it next year even though it’s made with fingering weight (4-ply) yarn. #2025TemperatureShawl #Knitting 🧶
Only goal today is to catch up on the temp shawl. It’s just there days so shouldn’t take me too long (once I figure out what I’m going to listen to or watch). Anything after that is a bonus. Happy Sunday!
Got over 11 hours of sleep last night and woke up with my thermostat back to normal. Yay! I think this is the fastest I’ve recovered from a Covid booster. Having suffered through this damn disease last February I’ll thankfully take a day or two of this every year to avoid death.
Just had Jake try on the autumn sock in progress since I haven’t used this yarn for him before. You’d never know he turned his nose up at hand knit socks before from the grin he gets when he settles his foot into the heel. Apparently it’s perfect and I just have to keep knitting.
I’m back to the roasting on the surface of the sun portion of this temperature rollercoaster. But yay, science and a proper immune response. Sigh.
