An illustration from Starfinder; Warframe: Operation: Orias. Arthur and Aoi from Warframe 1999 are fighting back to back against a group of Corpus Crewmen that is surrounding them in an installation that has turned to wreckage. Arthur is wielding his exalted sword while leaning forward and gritting his teeth, making a crewman fall against the snow of Venus. Aoi is using her magnetic powers full of determination in an intense bright green blast defeating another crewmen, whose helmet is getting thrown into the air. The trail of her powers is also changin the trajectory of a bullet than an Eximus is aiming at Arthur, making it describe a curve around her waist and move it towards the unit aiming at Arthur from the left side. A ship is flying over the sunset above them as a drone stays close and trying to shoot at both without avail due to Aoi's powers. An illustration of Flare and Lizzie from Warframe 1999. Flare is using their first ability, spreading one leg towards the camera and winking an eye with a soft smile while Lizzie casts an equalizer around Flare that displays a little heart in front of their left shoulder pad. Learning the difference between being a little uncomfortable and being in actual danger is something you HAVE to learn. Possibly have to start speed running it now if you’re planning on surviving the long term.

Important shit that I’m still trying to learn.
I am begging you. Please learn about stress/discomfort tolerance. Practice raising it. You need this to survive. If someone online can ruin your day with a throwaway comment, you desperately need to understand discomfort tolerance and consciously, systematically build that shit. Also! Stress tolerance is such an important skill that having a learning disability in that area is a major symptom of a whole lot of other disabilities/mental illnesses! Struggling with it is a huge part of life! It sucks! Am I saying everyone with misophonia needs to listen to chewing noises all day? No. But you need to find ways to tolerate it enough that you don't treat others like shit if they make a mouth noise near you. No, you don't have to read the fic with your trigger tags. But you do need to be able to handle scrolling past the tags without being upset. It is hard! But not having it also makes you so so so easy to manipulate. That grandma is racist AF because her mom raised her to be uncomfortable around black people and she never fought that discomfort. Trans people make so many cis people uncomfortable and that discomfort turns into bigotry real fast. Letting your discomfort dictate your actions and beliefs about things is a great way to become a terrible person. Learn. Discomfort. Tolerance.

maybe big shot creatives shouldn't reach beyond their grasp, maybe limitations in tech and finance create an environment that pushes them to be...well, CREATIVE and figure out a way to execute their vision within possible means, where other creatives and the environment aren't exploited MAYBE

For his design, I was inspired by the Pure Vessel and Pale King from Hollow Knight while making references to the Jade Shadows quest in Warframe. it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI
recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

This is simply not technically possible. You cannot generate enough writing in-house to train an LLM. You cannot generate enough art in-house to train a GAN. People who think they have a model "trained on our own material" are using a base model of mass-scraped data, unknowingly or disingenuously.
