The Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapse on Nov 7, 1940 stands as one of the most dramatic and instructive engineering failures.

At the time it had the longest center span of any suspension bridge.

This disaster improved the understanding of aerodynamic forces in civil engineering.

“Galloping Gertie” fell into Puget Sound on November 7, 1940, when 42 mph winds caused the suspension bridge to twist violently and collapse.

Frosty morning with the Branch Manager
I am loving all the Reggie Miller/Wout van Aert content. It's very cute to see Reggie so damn excited about riding with Wout.
Ahhhh yeah. That's not something I've encountered yet although I'm sure I will.
It's a blast and makes me feel less guilty about my breakfast pie
I'm doing my 4th annual Black Friday gravel ride this year, so if you live in Massachusetts you should definitely join. It'll be 30ish miles and include a delightful coffee stop midway through.
Hopefully they can help. I'm really sorry.

Every time I watch it I find something new to laugh at

Do you mean from the sense that it feels impossible to get things done?

(I'm more involved just in my town, where it's obviously a different dynamic)
This is how I feel about all my bikes
Smart. I'll start on my decade plan.
For some of us that's all we have, okay!!!
Right, with an alleycat that's built into the race and I assume that means you get participants ready and wanting that. I don't know if gravel is the same.
Yeah, and part of the thing with road is decades of "the way things are done" and the enforcement of rules. But that is also kind of in conflict with the whole gravel ethos.
