The additional context is that Valve is still killing a beloved games studio, still tried to weasel out of making a press statement, still didn't allow a second review, and still did not communicate with the developer beyond vague references to their terms.

kinda sucks that it has become the norm to undervalue your own art, because getting comms for the actual value what ur making has is just not possible, very few ppl got the money for that kinda thing

Part of the 30% cut that Valve takes is the implicit agreement that they'll protect developers from the hassle of dealing with individual payment providers, and if they're not actually willing to go to bat for us, why are we paying them so much again
Saw someone cite the Collective Shout thing and payment processors in regards to the Horse situation and say "Valve can't fight them by itself", and I think we maybe shouldn't be defending multi-billion dollar companies for arbitrary takedowns of artistic works and acting like they're the little guy

Bit of a longer thread where I'm quite negative, but I really do love this game and it's on the cheaper side, so pick it up if you like mechanically fantastic Beat-em-ups or games with gorgeous artstyles, it's got both in spades.
Beat the final final boss of Absolum, it's a very good game! I wish it wasn't a roguelike!
