I absolutely loved this sci-if/#urbanfantasy series, especially the latest (not final) installment! (Although tbh I have a few minor reservations about the Graphic Audio editions... love the voices, could do without a few of the voiced sound effects.) bookwyrmshoard.com/book-reviews... #bookreview

Dolly Parton is a national treasure. 2025 has been hard enough already. However, you choose to do it – prayer, holding her in the Light, sending healing energy or just good vibes – I hope you’ll send some positive thoughts out into the universe for her. #DollyParton

Having lived there, I can say that Montgomery County MD is, by and large, pretty liberal. I suspect you would see different results in, say, a rural county in Tennessee or Utah.
An absolutely gorgeous book. I am due for a reread… or rather, a relisten.
It is! Wrap-ups are a great source for book discovery, too.

We are thrilled to announce that our NEW Large Language Model will be released on 11.18.25.
I’m so happy for you, and for all the children who will be introduced to wonderful books and the joys of reading!
To clarify—we got the Covid vaccine. We usually get the flu shot in early October.
Got ours yesterday, and currently “enjoying” the post-vaccine fatigue and aches—which are totally worth it! I am so glad we were able to get the vaccine; I worry about all the people that want to, but can’t get one in the current situation.
For me it’s books. And fiber (yarn and spinning fiber.) But the books come first.
Interesting! I’m trying to approach my first weaving project with that attitude: that my mistakes are opportunities to learn, and at the end product doesn’t have to be perfect (which it certainly won’t be!) I think I will go ahead and finish it, and even keep it so that I can see how far I’ve come.
I saw several things I would like to try once I’m better with the basic technique.
That’s what I thought; it’s a book I can grow with as a weaver.
As a brand-new weaver, I was excited to find this book at my regional library, and so impressed with its content that I have ordered my own copy. #weaving #bookreview bookwyrmshoard.com/book-reviews...

I live half an hour away from the regional library where I get most of my library books, so even when it’s in the branch I go to, I usually put it on hold.
2/2 Names are important. It’s simply basic respect and courtesy to pronounce them correctly. And very disrespectful not to put in the effort to get people’s names right, in any situation. Especially when you have advance warning and should have prepared.
I wasn’t at WorldCon. I didn’t see this happen; the first I heard about it was when someone reposted Elizabeth Bear’s post. I was appalled. It was the responsibility of both the announcer & the Hugo committee to make sure the announcer was well prepared & could say each name correctly. They failed.
Something very very weird happened during the Hugos award ceremony... It's been on my mind for days, and so I wrote this blog: "When People Giggle at Your Name, or the 2025 Hugo Awards Incident"

The #TopTenTuesday prompt this week was “books with a high page count.” What’s the longest book you’ve ever read?

What a lovely, warm hug of a book! Cozy, heartwarming, and enchanting (but never saccharine or twee), A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping centers around found family, love, acceptance, healing, and the strength of rebuilding yourself after disaster. #cozyfantasy bookwyrmshoard.com/book-reviews...
