"Why does any billionaire need more money?" They actually need to hoard it so the rest of us don't have the time or energy to fight them. They are fleeing justice straight into climate destruction for all.

This will be my thread for thoughts while reading Disabling Intelligences by @fractalecho.bsky.social this week.

I'm all wrapped up in a fleece blanket, I have my highlighter and page flags, and on page 2 I'm already love their writing style.

You know how much you love the "magic" of ILL?

Defend it by defending IMLS.
🚨NEW🚨: Donald Trump is attempting to strip away federal support for libraries. We will NOT let that happen.

Last night the President signed an order to gut the Institute of Museum & Library Services. But together, we know we can show up & defeat it.

@djpressman.bsky.social, Soha Hammam, and I draw on our research through the Crowd Counting Consortium to show that there is far more protest happening in the US than is commonly understood, and that the shift to economic noncooperation shows powerful potential for future collective action.
Resistance is alive and well in the United States
Protests of Trump may not look like the mass marches in 2017, but they're far more numerous and frequent — and also becoming more strategic.

Found a little selection of hand made books in Cafe Treboli downtown Oaxaca. Made by Flavio Gomez, who works at CASA, an arts academy in Etla just north of the city. I gather he also makes the decorative paper used for these. I bought one!

A thank you card I made recently... Paper over eska board with a dragon printed on cloth by a local artist. It is going to O.U.R. Ecovillage, who gave a wonderful introduction to effective climate action to some students in April. They have adopted the image of the dragon for the year. #bookbinding
