I ask residents to explain what non compliant means when talking about patients. It usually end up with poor patient communication on the part of us. #Healthxph
T3. I find that gentle and consistent correction works. Letting residents and fellows know that saying “non-compliant” is not acceptable. And also explaining why. Some think that’s standard. #healthxph

T3. Context, awareness, empathy and listening a lot more. Might have a better influence on health outcomes. #Healthxph

Really don't know. But I gave them space as I don't know the circumstances of the scuffle and he's quite emotional. #Healthxph
Was he happy nothing was wrong? Or did he walk out in disbelief? It can be hard to tell. #healthxph

Had a patient who walked out on me after i said there's nothing wrong with his forearm after a scuffle. #Healthxph
There are patients who are easier to read than others. But there are those who give you no clue as to how what you’re saying is landing. #healthxph

There are time I lose steam, but I pause, gather myself and restate my language in a more compassionate manner. Needs lots of practice. #Healthxph

One patient friend jokingly replied the same to me. We bought laugh at our silliness. #Healthxph
T2. Matigas ang ulo or hard headed for patients who do not follow prescriptions. I heard someone say, but we are ALL hard-headed anyway because we have skulls. 😜 #healthxph
November 29, 2025 at 1:28 PM
stayed away from these vague terms too when talking to patients. #Healthxph
T1. I’ve to remember that saying “positive” or “negative” can be unhelpful as it can be confusing.
A negative micral test is a positive finding … see? #healthxph

T1. "Hard headed patient"! Is rarely helpful . #Healthxph

Sounds like a huge break! #Healthxph
Hi Remo! I decided not to do anything on my To Do list this weekend. Well, except the #healthxph chat 😁.

as what the singaporean ortho would say, AI is that confident when it talks to patients. #Healthxph
There should ALWAYS be a human in the loop. #healthxph

A3. Not used to but I'm willing to try. If thats the way healthcare is going. #Healthxph
T3. The most common AI tool in use now is AI ambient scribe. Listening to MD and patient consultations and drafting clinical notes. Dun pa lang, do we want that third party? #healthxph

As AI takes on cognitive tasks, what becomes of our role? More empathy? Less? Patients arrive with AI-generated advice.
T3: How will AI change the physician–patient relationship in PH over the next 5–10 yrs? #healthxph
November 22, 2025 at 1:50 PM
I glanced at a study that says people trusts AI more than humans as confidants. That, really surprised me. #healthxph
T2. I would be wary of something that oversimplifies or boxes diagnoses. In the same way I would distrust an AI tool that claims to be good for therapy, and "replace a therapist", because let's face it, there are incidences where AI use has led to suicide, or the tendency for it to pander. #healthxph
AI promises efficiency but raises safety concerns. How do we validate tools? What if it contradicts our judgment?
Lets go to T2: What would make you trust—or distrust—an AI tool for Filipino patients? #Healthxph
November 22, 2025 at 1:43 PM
Thank you. The fact that I don't know this means I really need to learn this skill. #Healthxph
Ideally, there should be an identified part of the workflow for the AI tool. There are standards for RCTs - SPIRIT-AI and CONSORT-AI. #healthxph
November 22, 2025 at 1:39 PM
Clinical validation by MDs with experience? Is our FDA able to "approve" AI implementations doc Airis? #Healthxph
T2. We need clinical validation and FDA approval. #healthxph
November 22, 2025 at 1:35 PM
I did ask this "validity" question during the discussion and a number raised their eyebrows...yes. What if? #Healthxph

A1. Also skills in developing, creating public facing health/clinic material. It seems that patients "believe" more of what AI says rather than their MDs. Called "sophisticated bull shitting" by some. #Healthxph
