I feel like the only logical reasons we aren't getting a Force Awakens re-release are either
A) they are genuinely worried it'll affect the box office of Avatar
B) they're taking the Reddit posts and tweets of idiots seriously and think that most people actually hate the movie

Everyone has forgotten the beloved Rebel Moon franchise
I was in a ridiculous meeting once where the goal was to define what a franchise meant for Netflix films. I have never wanted to hurl myself into the ocean more than during that meeting. I think they bought WB so they can inherit proven franchises instead of doing the work of developing them.
