there’s no point in denying the book of the week - the month - the year? - is Savage Sword of Conan #11, a tour de force from Liam Sharp’s pen … his digital stuff is excellent but this is an abject lesson in the fact that nothing in art can beat the tactile splendor of paper covered in hatching.

Oh.

Oh.
My.
Goodness.
It's 20 years since @seanphillips.bsky.social and I exchanged a sketchbook back and forth in the mail, a drawn &painted call and response. INTERSECTIONS may be out of print but here is a flip through that sketchbook. You can still find the book out there :)

I absolutely love that no matter how much I know about comics and the work of certain creators, there is ALWAYS something new!
Even if it's old.
Once upon a Time, my friend Marc andreyko & I created an Eisner winning graphic novel about law Man Elliott Ness in Cleveland suddenly faced with one of the first serial killers in America: The torso killer. Tons of meticulous research. Yes, I drew this. @darkhorse.com been on my mind a bunch

Wish me luck—The Scottish Boy (+ a new, similar book!!!) is out on sub to publishers, hoping to find a new home post-Unbound.

The book sold out 3 print runs & did big audio numbers on word of mouth, so I hope a new publisher can build on that. If you liked the book, pls RT 💕 synopsis in alt txt

Imagine if instead of polling "likely voters", we polled informed voters!
Pass a small random civics 101 quiz for your opinion to be counted:
Name your Senator & Representative, what year is the next election?, is the US a democracy or a republic? Name the first and the last two Presidents, etc.
I’ve been thinking a lot about a new kind of polling I’d like to see. We have polling that measures public opinion, which is obviously important, but I’d love to see a little more empirical work on public knowledge: what do voters know about politics and policy?

All three books in this series are unparalleled.
184/710: WONDER WOMAN HISTORIA: THE AMAZONS #1 (2021)

This one is, without exaggeration, one of the most beautiful issues of any comic that has ever been published. This is @philjimeneznyc.bsky.social’s Sistine Chapel. I can understand why he couldn’t do the other two. It would have killed any man.
