The Small Hours is the darkest part of night, right before dawn.

It's also the title of my upcoming vampire novel.
It's funny, sexy, and very, very bloody.

A modern-day splatterpunk.

My new writing sprint: put on an album, and the only break is flipping it over. Long sides for the win.

Looks like @igreggreene.bsky.social is enjoying DADDY'S BOY so far. What wonderful feedback to get mid-read. Here's hoping he enjoys this bizarre journey until the end.

If this piques your interest, do consider buying DADDY'S BOY by Michael David Wilson.

My neverending search for prog-rock landed me on Soft Machine and Camel. Folk prog-rock headed me straight back to Jethro Tull, which ... yeah, that tracks.

Friends, if you have good news about your writing or art, we need to see that. The onslaught of political posting & rallying against fascism is important, but your happiness about your creative wins is part of what people are standing for. Don't let the bastards take that away from you.

Revisiting Opeth's Pale Communion on vinyl has given me a greater appreciation for the album. Same with Heritage, but I'm digging this one even more now, especially Moon Above, Sun Below ... outstanding track!

I know it's bad out there. I've felt paralyzed every time I've even looked at the news. I'm limiting myself to five minutes ... get in get out. Social media constantly bombards us regardless, so you have to find your joy somehow.

Find some joy in your lives.

I didn't know that there was an actual desktop Apple Classical Music app until now. It already has albums considered classical, mostly scores and some jazz artists. This is probably about as close to an instrumental app as I'm likely to find, but I can still create playlists with the regular app.

How about NO.

What did we do before "spell-check-hopped-up-on-gas-station-coffee"?

We used the sponge between our ears, that's what. The sponge soaks up experience and spits out imagination with heart and soul.
