The marine heatwave occurring across much of the East China Sea is one of the most extreme ever recorded in this part of the world. Over the past few days, it has reached “Beyond Extreme” Category 5 status — Completely uncharted territory.

The green and yellow curved rise exponentially while the blue and green decay (probably also) exponentially. Over this time period the total mass of all wild mammals decreased from 200 Mt to 60 Mt, while humans+livestock increased from 200 Mt to 1100 Mt.

It's clear from today's AP photos that Trump has entirely demolished the East Colonnade—added to the White House by Thomas Jefferson in 1805—and restored by Theodore Roosevelt in 1902.

The East Colonnade didn't occupy the footprint of the Trump "ballroom"—its demolition was completely unnecessary.

Both the east and west terrace colonnades were set half-underground to be visually subservient to the White House main building, and were inspired by Jefferson's similar design at Monticello.

The extent of sea ice on our planet is still the 3rd lowest on record for this time of year. Unfortunately, as a result of the U.S. government shutdown, there is no data to assess last month's average global ice volume/thickness (provided by GIOMAS).
