Regrettably, I think this is true.

There were lots of very good reasons to prefer Obama to Clinton.
But in hindsight*, Clinton would've probably gotten more good things done than Obama did, because she's better at fighting the GOP and he chickened out a lot.

* Which is never 20/20, and seldom even close to it.

My experience of owning a Brother printer and a Canon printer is that the Brother printer usually works when you send it a print job but the Canon printer almost always needs some further enticement.

I feel thrown by the widespread proclamations of a glorious, lasting peace in Gaza. A lot even treats “now that it’s all over” as the unquestioned premise.

It still looks like a disaster to me. Am I way off? Are my domestic politics distorting my view? Either the consensus is wrong or I am.

Weird how none of that cash goes to help fund all the No Kings events.... DNC consultants raise tons of money while the grass roots is working out of pocket.

It true, AOC reputation took a lot of damage for supporting Kamala, and then Kamala opted to screw her over by offering no concessions in return. Because all the Centrists establishment types were super excited about continuing to support a GODDAMNED GENOCIDE, and didn't want to let it go.
bobbywilliams.bsky.social
What the fuck have centrists accomplished?

Here's whats going on for No Kings Day in Keene and Cheshire County, NH. Our goal isn't so much raw numbers, as it is to be visible in as many places at once. #NHPolitics
"Flyer for “NO KINGS DAY,” organized by the Keene Rally Coalition, scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025. The event is described as “A Day of Peaceful Visibility Across Cheshire County.” The flyer features a light blue background, bold black text, and a red-orange circular logo in the top-right corner with the slogan “Stand for Democracy.” A yellow megaphone icon appears next to the title. Schedule of Events: - 10:00–11:30 AM: Keene NO KINGS Kickoff at Ladies Wildwood Park with speeches and donuts. - 11:30 AM–2:00 PM: Arts and family fun at Ladies Wildwood Park. - 12:00–2:00 PM: NO KINGS Swanzey at Potash Bowl Amphitheater, 621 Old Homestead Highway. - 12:30–2:00 PM: Route 101 Bridge Brigade at the Route 101 pedestrian bridge in Keene. - 12:30–2:00 PM: Route 9 Bridge Brigade at the Route 9 pedestrian bridge in Keene. - 1:00–3:00 PM: NO KINGS Jaffrey in downtown Jaffrey. - 1:00–3:00 PM: NO KINGS Ringe at the intersection of Routes 202 and 119. - 3:00–3:30 PM: Keene to Walpole Caravan, leaving Wheelock Park at 3:05 PM. - 3:30–5:00 PM: NO KINGS Walpole with live music and community gathering in front of L’Journey Chocolate on Highway 12, across from Dunkin Donuts. At the bottom, a red and black crown graphic with a red “X” symbolizes opposition to monarchy or authoritarianism. A call to action reads: “To find up-to-date information on these events, visit DemocracyNH.com/no-kings,” with a QR code in the bottom-right corner.

Nah. That "infusion of capital" is driving up prices, while rents paid to out-of-state property owners are just a firehose of money leaving our local economy.
bobbywilliams.bsky.social
I don't mind a primary, but it should be between candidates capable of serving more than one term. Did we not just learn this lesson in a very bad way?
bobbywilliams.bsky.social
Its actually a huge problem that most of these events are organized by groups that consider themselves "non-partisan" because nobody wants to be publicly identified with Democrats.
bobbywilliams.bsky.social
People be like: No Kings is funded by George Soros and the DNC.

The Soros things is an old trope, but lets be clear: the DNC hasn't funded jack shit. Don't give them credit they haven't earned.
bobbywilliams.bsky.social
What about the Democratic centers soft treatment of Donald Trump and his supporters? Unlike your Nick Fuentes troll, that actually exists.
bobbywilliams.bsky.social
I like Janet Mills a lot but 77 years old is too old for a freshman senator. Even if she wins, it sets up the Dems to lose the seat in 6 years. I am concerned that our establishment doesn't recognize this.
volts.wtf
The Dem establishment is going to back Mills over the absolute phenom outsider Platner in Maine, which tells you everything you need to know about how well they understand the current moment & how prepared they are to meet it.

That's pretty embarrassing that the South got its ass kicked by a drunk.

Would have been nice to know this when I was 15.

a key thing about vought — and all of these guys — is that they have a totally top down and hierarchical vision of the world. they believe that the cultural changes they hate can be turned off by destroying the federal government because they can’t imagine that they emerged bottom-up in society
thomaszimmer.bsky.social
What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.

Both the US and China subsidized their EV industries but China seems to have gotten a lot more for its money.

In terms of hostile locals, but also in terms of the benefits of pissing off those hostile locals.

Not going to lie, I love that they are doing this in Idaho. If we have to have a Qatari airbase, I can't think of a better state for it to go in.
maddmac.bsky.social
I wonder if the Qatari know that Idaho is a hotbed of White Christian Nationalism? They won't be safe there at all.
bobbywilliams.bsky.social
Vermont funds education too. That must be nice.
bobbywilliams.bsky.social
Shouldn't you be out throwing someone under a bus?

I live in New Hampshire, I dearly wish we had Vermont's railroad infrastructure.
