It isn’t just a death penalty for drug smuggling. It’s a death penalty for owning a boat. The Coast Guard has policies and procedures for processing what they suspect might be drug smugglers. They shoot out the motor, capture the people interview them, collect inside information. Smart.

Correct. This ruling has nothing to do with immigrants. It has to do with citizens that don’t have a passport or Federal ID being forced to get them. A state issued ID already requires a SS#. Many can’t afford passports, so they won’t get them and then they won’t vote.

When I worked in WaPo Opinions in 2017-2018, senior editors specifically told junior editors not to factcheck Marc Thiessen and other MAGA columnists, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to publish anything by them at all, and “we need them for intellectual diversity.”

Currently in Chicago people are wearing whistles. If anyone sees ICE, we blow our whistles. Additionally, many neighborhood groups have formed outposts on street corners looking for ICE vehicles. We call a number to report sightings, and neighbors can stand in the street in mass.
