Israel keeps us soooo safe. Yup. Sure. Israel's genocide definitely doesn't lead directly to antisemitism rising and murdering Jews worldwide. /sarcasm

It's every holiday now. It happened on Yom Kippur too. FUCK.

The image of Kristi Noem at CECOT and the saga of the Venezuelans the US government exiled to a notorious gulag should be seared into America's collective memory.

But displays of inhumanity were a normalized phenomenon in 2025.

In the first Trump administration, cruelty was the point. Now, it is the norm.

The demo for Heaps, our sandbox game that builds 3D from your interests, premieres at @grayarea.org tomorrow.

I'm nervous/excited to see what folks think. We are looking for a publisher interested in helping us flesh it out.

Here's the demo trailer

Karp's viral interview was unusual for him which is why it went viral. It was not punching down but up. DEI as PR stunt from Palantir is not unusual but it is scary. Palantir is stockpiling personal data that can easily be used to prevent equal access, imprison, deport or kill disabled people.

Happy international day of disabled people!

Let's celebrate not by accommodating a few to meet the standards of an exclusionary system but instead redesign it!

Access is not a bolt-on afterthought. Access is an technique, a design system, and a lens thru which we create systems and projects
Even by the standards of The Atlantic, this is an extraordinarily weak evidence base for an article.

Data from a tiny handful of schools that isn't measuring the variable at issue and a few thin, secondhand anecdotes.

For international day of disabled people I'm focusing on accomodations.

Usually talk about accommodations gets bogged down in who deserves them? How do they prove they deserve them? And how do we prevent cheaters?

But this framing misses the point
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

When bell hooks says patriarchy is hurting men because it limits their access to emotional like please also read that ablism is hurting able bodied people by limiting their access to embodiment.
