Yeahhh that scenecolor node is probably drawing really inefficiently depending on whether you're in deferred or forward+, which I believe is relatively new.
If we don't make the next generation of game engines use shader objects by default game devs are just gunna lose years of their lives lol.
Did you just use a material graph or hook into Unreal's render pipeline? (Which is significantly more painful)

I'd imagine its probably because there's post-process/TAA upsampling if you don't hook into some sort of abstracted away translucency pass.

So around this time last year around our neighbourhood we started spotting symbols on the pavment drawn with flour, there would be like arrows and circles and splotches of flour here and there, and daily we'd find more and more shapes just around just drawn in flour.

I saw one of your old repos the other day when thinking about this myself.

You're basically describing my current workflow. Define things in a DSL, sourcegen makes "safe" packing layouts, and auto-defines its own serialize functions.

Trying out WrenSharp for my Declarative UI code-behind. At first glance fibers seem perfect for call-back based UI. But its quite confusing and runtime error-prone for casual scripting...

Will try AssemblyScript next.

I really liked being able to quickly make my own DSL's. I was basically able to translate my nim structs to slang-shader PODs and keep nimscripts modular one-offs like im just working in a big python workspace.

Trying not to feel hopeless about things. A couple big payments hit & knocked us even farther off of the goal - about $850 left to cover rent now. Real steep but I gotta keep plugging my commissions & hoping for the best.

After messing around with it, I gotta say it really is a productive language for game dev. I was able to muck around with SDL3 within like 30m and it traces memory leaks instantly.
