Ah most of the scary ones don't come near humans or inside houses if they can help it. So it's not really scary in that sense. They just give me a moment's fright.

There is a rather vocal frog in the backyard outside my bedroom tonight.

At least it's not actually inside my bedroom like the time I found a tiny frog in my windowsill. I've also had geckos and huntsman spiders. Fortunately it's not really the time of year for either of those.

I realise it sounds like I don't do much while I'm here, and that's not technically true. But I mostly have to be sneaky about it. Like quietly doing my own washing, unpacking and repacking the dishwasher while they're at work in the mornings, cleaning things without being noticed 😂

My parents dote on me terribly - I'm the only child and we have a close relationship. I don't do a lot of cooking/chores while I'm here (even though I try to help). I'm grateful that they let me cook them a fancy meal and show some appreciation for who they are and all they do for me. I love them 💕

So the dinner I cooked for my parents was a huge hit! Fillet steaks with fried potatoes, honeyed carrots with ginger and cinnamon, roasted vine tomatoes and red and green peppers. We had the loveliest meal together and I'm so glad I could do that for them.

And then, when I turned on the car to go home, Neuron started to play and I burst into tears.
I used to listen to that almost every time I was driving home from the hospital after dialysis.

I can't believe it's been a full YEAR tomorrow since my last dialysis session.
And?
I'm still alive.

While out shopping for the dinner I'm cooking for my parents, one of the grocery stores I visited is next to the local hospital. I happened to walk past the parking that was reserved for renal patients (probably dialysis). Always gives me pause, even though it's been a year since my last session.
