I live in Chicago: A 6-year-old should not have to know what a tear gas canister is. And a sixth grader should not be too afraid to come to school because she believes that [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] will bust down the doors to the school.

For me it was Wednesday. Tried to get to the Art Institute and apparently a bridge went up and never came down, halting all CTA train traffic. Tried to change to another line and the train took off without us. A second train never arrived. Fuck it, I’ll just go have a bagel and walk home.
