Today I learned that the U.S. Civil War was also fought off the shores of the Kamchatka peninsula.

Where was that your stupid movie Ken Burns?
November 29, 2025 at 11:38 PM
He had quite a run though.

Barely 10%.

Kinda embarrassing for an ex-sailor if you ask me.

RIP Jimmy Cliff
Worth taking 3 minutes this morning to watch this profound and lovely performance.
And if you’re my age, to remember where you were when you first heard the song.

It's true kids.

Concerts used to be affordable.

Priced for the working class.

This Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers show was epic.

Ann Wilson of Heart came onstage near the end of the show and together they played Barracuda.

Hopefully following close on the heels of this order are disbarment procedures for EVERY U.S. Attorney that worked on this "case."

Every one of them. They knowingly, and deliberately, lied repeatedly under oath. There has to be consequences for that. Trump can't pardon that.

Total score!
rolled the dice at the recycling centre on a set of mahjong tiles in a Glad ziplock for $5

very surprised that it turned out to be a full set with no missing tiles, and even includes “100-uses” jokers and two alternate types of white dragon

I'll bet there are lots of things we don't know about insects.

But this is pretty damn cool.

Marge Greene announces she is resigning from Congress, that she doesn’t want to go through a brutal primary against a Trump backed opponent, and says Trump has treated her like a battered wife and has been hateful to her and is trying to destroy her.

I had these plastered on the inside of my bedroom door. Which opened into a wall so my folks never saw that side of the door until after I'd moved out!

I still think they are funny.

And subversive too. Just like MAD Magazine.

I predicted this would happen the day the guys were killed by the falling tree.

I'd passed that particular tree 100's of times and knew it was only a matter of time before it fell on the roadway. Dead. Leaning. Completely foreseeable.

Write the check.

Families sue Spokane International Airport after two men killed by falling tree nearby
A newly filed lawsuit claims the Spokane International Airport is responsible for a dead tree that fell and killed two men while they were driving on the highway during a windstorm last year.

I just realized that other than grocery shopping for an hour yesterday, I haven't left my property all week.

It might be time for some peopling.

I know they'll fucking ruin it, but I'm gonna do it anyway.

New guitar strings and I'll also treat myself to some higher end bridge pins.

Old Folks Tips: when I collect my RX & have my spectacles on, I take a moment to put the first letter of the med in black magic marker on the bottle. This is because I often don’t have my specs in the low light evening and can’t read the damn label 🙃

Tonight there is a draft for a women’s pro baseball league and on Saturday I will watch the women’s soccer team I support play for a championship after their most successful season yet, surrounded by other diehard fans at a bar. I am living in a world 8-year-old me could have never imagined.

I went full scale grocery shopping for the 1st time since early August. I eat out of my garden so much and have freezers filled with game and fish I caught that I haven't needed groceries.

Needed staples and Winco's bulk section always comes thru. Three more months of food for $180.

I can't remember how many times I've gotten out of washing dishes with this excuse.
I know somebody who keeps his left hand out of hot tubs to protect his guitar calluses and I think I'm gonna take that up as an affectation even though I can only play a clean barre chord 35% of the time.

I'd say "Get fucked, Mr. President" and then get stinking rich trademarking the phrase and plaster it on everything from t-shirts, coffee mugs and house boats.
Still fuming about "quiet piggy" but more specifically the lack of backbone of those present during that interaction.

I have crops continuing to flower here in the Inland Northwest.

On November 20.

Highs near 50 still.

This is where climate change is most pronounced.

Sure. Summers have become unbearably hot at times.

But it pales in comparison to how much winter has warmed.
