On November 1, Members of Congress will still get paid during the government shutdown, unless they ask House Administration to withhold their pay, as I have.

Their staff won’t see a dime.

Every Member of Congress should answer whether they will be cashing a paycheck while their team goes unpaid.

learned recently that the guy who wrote "The Night Before Christmas," clement clarke moore, also wrote a takedown of thomas jefferson's proto-scientific racism in "Notes on the State of Virginia," basically accusing him and others of making it up to justify slavery. which, that's right.
