"What should poor people be allowed to eat?" seems to be a burning question for those who aren't poor, have never been poor, and can afford to eat what they like, but want to keep poor people from eating anything that tastes really good. "No fresh meat," said Iowa, a few years ago.

It’s a great day to pick out a bunch of THINGS for your loved ones! Here’s Johnny with his THINGS print. Maybe I should add “excellent beard” to the THINGS database.

like it feels to me that the longer we have to live with bots eating through all of the trash that was never important in the first place, it just becomes ever clearer that real, deep writing about human experience has always been a profound and *extraordinary* gift

I returned my first car to the dealership today! It was a lease, we had four months left on it, but our insurance is sky high, my partner is going back to school, and that extra money goes a long way. I almost never drove it myself, but it's a little sad! Thanks for the adventures, Gladys.

About a year ago I bought a tiny, cheap little linux box with the intention of setting up a local web server, Just For Fun. I finally got it working! I won't share the link, the page is just a doodle, but still. It's such a small thing, but it's so cool this site lives 1' away from me in meat space.

I finally finished McKenzie Wark's book "Raving" this morning. What a great read. So visceral. She really captured so many things I've felt but couldn't say. I'm diving back into raves/dance in a more intentional way after many years of bopping at Gay Boy Parties,

TIL about responsive viewport units!
Also this is, like, the fourth time I've seen something cool about/on the internet posted somewhere else, and saw that it was done by this delightful human.
If you haven't seen lyra.horse/antonymph/ yet, do - it's my favourite piece of web-art.

I’m not doing it.

Using craigslist for the first time in a long time, and I'm just so thrilled at how *fast* everything is. Turns out not having tonnes of ads, javascript, and f e a t u r e s results in a site that just works, and works very well.

Sure I'm really proud of the a11y work I do, but this? Getting people to call buttons buttons instead of always CTAs? This is my real impact, my pride and joy.

I just published a complete redesign of my website! It's still a bit of a work in progress... I was tempted to find a geocities style "Under Construction" gif to slap on it. I've been working on it very slowly for a bit, and figured it was best to just push up what I have now, and keep iterating!
