Maps like this suck. They imply climate change will flood vast swathes of the country very soon. Climate change will (and does) cause more flooding, but flooding is not about whether land is below high tide...
If we do what they always do for military spending and put it in %GDP then the OBR predicts "welfare" will rise 0.4 percentage points, i.e:
10.8% GDP ---> 11.2% GDP

If graduates benefit so much from high earnings, you can simply raise the thresholds and they'll still earn enough to qualify. Ffs

I mean it's a bit awkward but ultimately all this "aha gotcha" stuff has achieved over the last 30 years is pushing them more towards explicitly saying what they really mean.

I don't think it's a coincidence this comes after @defendourjuries.bsky.social and wider public knowledge of juries' right to acquit according to conscience.
Conspiracy brain talking, perhaps, but I wouldn't be shocked if this was to try and stop protestors - Palestine-supporting and climate activist ones in particular - from having a chance to evade prison after the many rightful Ls the governments taken on jury trials so far...
