Nigel Farage appears to equate Alf Garnett - a satirical 70s character intended to lampoon racists - with hissing "Hitler was right" to boys at school. I wonder if he's missing the point www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/uki...
Farage’s attack on the BBC tells us who he really is
His response to allegations of racist behaviour reveals more than we could have guessed—and why the Beeb needs to protect itself

Going to the cinema to see #InterAlua this evening
Drained & exhilarated after INTER ALIA at the NT. I guess that’s Rosamund Pike with all the Best Actress in a Play awards in the bag then. Like all great actors, she’s also a superb comic, not that there’s anything remotely funny about the territory this play goes to. Stunning.

Off to the cinema tonight to see #InterAlia
I said this yesterday but I want to repeat it: Inter Alia at the National Theatre is INCREDIBLE. Beg steal or borrow tickets, go to the cinema screenings, see it see it! SO GOOD!

Dean Cain now willing has a job where he would arrest Superman in a second. It honestly just feels like such a perfect encapsulation of the racist anti-intellectualism of our culture right now.

An anniversary worth marking.

I'm sure we're going to see the very people who have trashed its legacy seek to appropriate WW2 today - so let's remember what was really fought for: peace, a more united Europe, a land fit for heroes (mark 2) and the defeat of fascism.

My daughter has epilepsy. Only a few of us really know how brave she is. For schools, epilepsy is often a mystery, a nuisance or simply a legal risk to be managed. Kids still mock people who have seizures.

At Heathrow, back in UK for a few days. It feels like a homecoming. I feel physically and mentally lighter, at a distance from the toxic environment in Washington. I didn’t realize how much it was affecting me. O/c, the issues haven’t gone away, but it honestly feels different here. Let me explain 🧵
