Nothing Congress voted on this week lowers costs for working families.

We asked Speaker Johnson to change that. He refused.

We have a discharge with 218 signatures to keep health care costs from rising nationwide. It didn't get a vote.

Abhorrent. Self-serving. GOP In the pocket of Billionaires.

Today, I led a letter with all Ohio House Dems demanding answers after Trump suspended funding that supports Ohio manufacturing.

This reckless move puts our state's economy at risk. Ohioans need answers.

I fight every day for NW Ohioans who will be left behind if the ACA tax credit's are not extended this week. 4 Republicans have shown the courage to join all Democrats on a discharge petition to extend these credits—the real question is will Speaker Johnson have the courage to allow a vote?

I want to thank Ohio's corn & soy growers & Ohio Farm Bureau for an excellent agricultural summit in Defiance, OH. We discussed biofuels as a reliable source of income and power—now comprising 44% of the bottom line for NW Ohio farmers. This is filling the gap as export markets are lost to tariffs.

I’m hoping that the horror of Trump’s post today will at least get us to recognize how important humanity and character are in our elected officials. @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social has both & should be re-elected for those reasons alone.
As I return to Washington this week, hoping we can deliver real relief to struggling Americans who are worried about affordable health insurance. May the spirit of this holiday season spill over into common sense in our decision making.

🚨The Trump Administration has recklessly frozen all of Ohio's Manufacturing Extension Partnership offices. This halts work to grow manufacturing jobs, delays critical upgrades, injects uncertainty into local production lines, and undermines new jobs being created for workers our nation depends upon.

Thank you to IAFF President Edward Kelly and firefighters from across America for joining our @LaborCaucus.house.gov roundtable. Good to hear the positive impact federal funding through AFG, and SAFER awards are making nationwide.

Article I of our Constitution gave Congress the power to declare war and send our troops into battle. No one person can send our brave sons and daughters into conflict on a whim. Continued strikes off the coast of Venezuela are both an escalation abroad and direct attack on our Constitution at home.

Working families are being pushed to the brink this holiday season. Energy debts are soaring, shutoffs are rising (5x more than last year), and more than 5% of Ohio households are behind on their utility bills. Where is the relief they were promised?

Great to welcome Rick Fruth from Napoleon’s New Vision Farms and representatives from the Farm Journal Foundation to DC. We discussed expanding opportunities for local producers and increasing federal funding to help our farmers, producers and growers, who make and grow what makes and grows America.

Thanks to the Ohio Farm Bureau for bringing together farmers, biofuels industry leaders, Ag Commodity Groups, and state lawmakers for the NW Ohio Biofuels Summit. Always great to be with our corn and soy producers, to discuss increased demand and production of ethanol-based fuel.

The new National Security “Strategy” shows paranoia—not strength. Instead of proposing a plan for threats to our safety and American interests, it betrays Liberty for a dangerous ideologically focused agenda. It sees allies as problems—not partners. It does not meet the mark.
Trump administration National Security Strategy claims Europe facing "civilizational erasure" within 20 years
The Trump administration says societal threats mean some European nations may not be "strong enough to remain reliable allies."

70 years ago, the AFL-CIO was formed with a bold vision—the dignity of a day's work must be matched by the dignity of a worker's life. This merger formed a promise: America would be stronger when working people stand together. Thanks for 70 years of solidarity, strength, and service to our families.
