Equality, what a concept.

You've got to be taught
To hate and fear,
You've got to be taught
From year to year,
It's got to be drummed
In your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught.

Trump thinks he is above the law because… Guess what? He is! He has never faced real accountability for his myriad of crimes! It’s time to change that.

"If the U.S. military operation is not an armed conflict of any kind, these orders to kill helpless civilians clinging to the wreckage of a vessel our military destroyed would subject everyone from SECDEF down to the individual who pulled the trigger to prosecution under U.S. law for murder."
Here are US military lawyers stating clearly that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's "kill everybody" orders are either (1) war crimes or (2) murder.

Either way, expect prosecutions in the future.

Wait until you get to this part, Sir.

“Section 4 provides that the President—and all other civil Officers of the United States—may be removed from office if impeached and convicted on charges of Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

This is *not* the sort of thing you see in this era, which makes it all the better that we are seeing it this weekend.
UPDATE: I added in the congressional response to the boat-strike section once I saw we had bipartisan, matching statements from both House and Senate Armed Services Committees. www.lawdork.com/p/trump-admi...

7) This 2017 event established a historical precedent for "business-led" diplomacy attempts that bypass traditional State Department channels—a pattern that appears to be repeating in the "Make Money Not War" 28 point peace plan.

I really appreciate that @pbsnews.org ended the interview with this graphic.

It captures, in the simplest and starkest terms, the brutal arithmetic driving this country's homelessness catastrophe.

There is no doubt that Hegseth has ordered our troops to commit war crimes. He fired all the TJAGs his first week for a reason. My latest. open.substack.com/pub/fpwellma...
Ordering our troops to commit murder is a crime. Period.
The Washington Post story on the 'take no prisoners' order from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is clear evidence that the Trump Administration is giving illegal orders to our troops

I prosecuted international drug trafficking organizations for the Justice Department. In fact, for years one of my cases was listed as the #1 noted case on DOJ's Special Operations Division website.

But killing people with no trial or due process is wrong. It is cruel and degrades America.

As Stoppard wrote, and as I contemplate often: “I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little or make a poem which children will speak for you when you're dead.”

She is spot on about accommodations for #students w/ various #disabilities 💯🎯

For many grade #school years, I required #accommodations through my IEP

W/o those accommodations, I would've failed those grade levels. Eventually, I worked myself off of my #IEP

I was badly bullied for being on an IEP

The problem for military personnel is that by the time an operational order reaches them, they assume that someone higher up must have signed off on it. (Which is correct.)

Instead of carping about "the military," ask where General Caine and the joint chiefs are.
Spare us all the "few bad apples" line when no member of the armed forces has been accused of refusing to murder civilians. Not. One.

Honor and dishonor are about what people actually do.

If you think that accountability matters, act and vote in ways that make it happen, instead of demanding that pro-democracy candidates act like kamikazes just because it would make the college Democrats feel good about themselves
If someone believes accountability should exist even when it’s politically costly, that isn’t necessarily “preferring” the GOP. It may simply reflect a belief that legal and ethical principles shouldn’t depend entirely on domestic election incentives
