I can second that! I looked class by class at children who had experienced trauma, worthy of Childrens Services involvement (DV, MH, CLA, SGO, KC, drug/alcohol misuse) some classes were at 45%. That’s just what we know about. I don’t think phonics is their priority- it’s survival!

I will never forgive Williamson for reopening the schools after Christmas to make his point about standing up to teacher unions! Or Hancock for pedalling the myth that kids couldn’t spread it just because they didn’t get as ill as adults. People died as a direct result of this.

In Wales where the Senedd prioritised schools over pubs Drakeford was mocked/vilified for being a ‘hên nain’ (old Nana). Senedd tried a fire break 3 week lockdown at the beginning of November to ‘save Christmas’ and an early Xmas hols but because Gav the Whip wouldn’t follow suit Xmas was fucked.

No one who is good at their job ever makes a colleague feel useless. That’s a significant failure on their part. Even supposing you are ‘sub par’ which I highly doubt, their job is to lift you up and raise your performance not to squash you down. Bad form, unprofessional and frankly incompetent.

Set up unofficial specialist provision - self funded. 2 pupils there F/T were offered special school places but parents refused, 1 is on LA waiting list for special school but everywhere is full.
2 left for specialist placement in July after 2yrs, we have 5 more accessing it P/T could fill it twice

If you’ve never read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, do yourself a favor and read it during the holidays. It’s one of the greatest books ever written, it takes less than two hours to read and once you finish, you can say you’ve read one book by Charles Dickens.

My son had test booked for Alevel results day 09:15 (he wondered why it was avail at short notice!) Obvs when penny dropped he rebooked- January! I agree, it’s 💩
Strange how private partnerships havent improved accessibility or made it more cost effective 2 of the supposed aims. Who has oversight?
