One of the Spanish words for “capybara” is “carpincho”. “Carpincho” seems to be more common here in Uruguay. Anyway, to me, “capybara” is like :3, but “carpincho” is like >:3.

I constantly get ads on Reddit for managing my business that I definitely have. A lot of them mention switching from binders and physical files to digital systems. I suspect that this is because I’m in some trans subreddits, and the algorithm doesn’t distinguish between different meanings of binder.

It gets worse, honestly. The whole idea that Israel is culturally vacuous and steals everything from other cultures is antisemitic. You can’t claim that Israel steals its entire culture without claiming that Jews in general do so, because Israel, being majority Jewish, is largely a Jewish culture.

I’m sure if you search online you can probably find a Montreal Jew who made a “Jewish poutine” fusion dish with smoked meat & latkes instead of French fries, but that’s not rapacious Jewish colonialism that’s just people who live all over the world putting their own spin on local cuisine

there is not a Jewish food website celebrating “classic Israeli poutine”, or Texas toast as “classic Israeli bread”, or custard tarts as a “classic Israeli dessert” or “classic Israeli gumbo. you’d think screenshots featuring countless different foods with nearly identical text would clue you in.

You can’t argue that Israel has no culture of its own without arguing that Jews have no culture of our own, because Israel is majority Jewish. It’s not possible for all Israeli culture to be fake, vacuous, or appropriated without the same being true of Jewish culture.

You can and should criticise the Israeli government. You can and should speak out against genocide. But claiming that Israeli culture itself is not real, that Israeli Jews specifically just steal culture from others, is deeply antisemitic.
