Some of the faculty had me compose letter of reference for grad school and jobs. I'd just make them up (always said good stuff). Then the prof would look it over and make any changes, but they were usually fine or needed minor changes.

Oh it was information. I worked in 2 departments and they were cesspools. Tenure letters were really interesting. I'd type them and learn what tenured "friends" really thought about their untenured colleagues. Yikes!

Hawaii Supreme Court ruled on Sept. 30, 2025 that adoption records in cases, such as abuse and murder of a young girl adopted into a foster family, can be released when that release of information serves the public interest. Stems from horrific case of abuse.
