We've got so many great grassroots orgs and non-profits in #WatReg and I need your help to highlight them! For an upcoming Citified post, I'm wanting to share short blurbs (3-5 sentences) about your favourite local organization or non-profit. Feel free to share it on this thread or DM me. Thanks!

Canada would be better off with Sweden's Gripen fighter aircraft than American F-35. But, Canada has so much sunken cost in the development of the F-35 that it seems likely that's where we'll go. Price difference is massive too. We could have a Gripen and a bunch of drones with the leftover change.

This is my winter bike on a maintenance stand at Different Spokes community bike hub in Brampton Ontario. It's a resource for people to work on their own bikes with guidance from a certified bike mechanic, for educational help if needed.

The corrosion is a result of a previous winter of road salt.

I'm watching a video of a ferry pilot delivering a Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet from Knoxville USA to Timisoara Romanian, via Maine, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, and Netherlands.

An Atlantic Ocean single engine crossing is scary, but still I now want one 😀

YouTube welcomes feedback, so ...

I've been enjoying YouTube content since the beginning of time. BUT, the pool is quickly becoming a toxic sludge swamp of generative AI content that is mostly the same themes repeated over and over with only slight variations.

You're going to lose a lot of viewers

We know Hurontario LRT is still a long way from completion, but extending construction to 2029 would be unfortunate. This also shows why we have to plan ahead of demand: projects take a while to come to fruition, even when things go well.

N+1

New drone day. I now have more drones than bikes!

This one will fulfill the role of tracking me while riding. No remote control needed. It can be controlled by smartphone or hand gestures. The hand gestures technology is spectacularly impressive.

The complacency and indifference by average americans, to the complete collapse of their society, assures it is inevitable.
Closing the airspace over a foreign country is a de facto declaration of war but we’ve pushed so far into “let’s conspicuously underreact so everyone knows we’re savvy people not overreacting to Trump” that his de facto declaration of war is literally not even being reported on the news

I enjoy documentaries via YouTube when I can find something educational.

This is easily the most educational documentary I've EVER watched. It thoroughly takes the mystery out of nuclear power production. I didn't mind it before. I REALLY don't mind it now.
