i'll probably add more detail to the mech, but i'm going to move on to the buildings and environment first

even though i now have 3 separate models combined, they have to share the same texture file. additionally, i'm using an unsupported palette, so the image out of picoCAD isn't wholly representative of the actual texture.

at this point, combining the background model w/ the previous mech model breaks picoCAD, so work becomes a bit siloed between each part (legs, body, background).

i use 2 different programs during this phase, picoCAD and the picoCAD toolkit (by jordanfb on Github). once i get close to the file size limit w/ a vanilla picoCAD model, i'll start a separate model (to be merged via the toolkit)

i make loops first, until one kick-starts an idea for a model/scene. here are two from this weekend that give me some ideas for next steps.
i use a EP–133 K.O. II (stock sounds) and record into Reaper.

even though i'm working across multiple picocad files, i can only use one texture file (due to picocad toolkit limitations). i try to be as judicious as i can be when texturing more complex models, so i don't run out of space.
