Recently finished Crimsoncrest by Sarah Lin. Book 10 of The Weirkey Chronicles. The gang have reached a level where they're dealing with world altering events, and yet it's still as exciting/mysterious as book 1!

Saw a Merlin in the parking lot at work yesterday. It took down and began eating one of the pigeons that had been roosting in the eves.

Finished The City That Would Eat the World yesterday. Another excellent book from @johnbierce.bsky.social! His other series (Mage Errant) is easily one of my favourites, and I can see this one quickly joining it.

Just finished Dead Man's Debt by Elliott Kay. Like the first two I really enjoyed the characters. Thinking I'm going to take a break before continuing with the rest of the series though.

Finished Rich Man's War. Solid continuation of the series. Still really liking the character work. Was a little iffy on how the space battles are portrayed... but that's probably just because Glynn Stewart has me spoiled.

Just finished The Broken Night, book 4 of Kieran The Eternal Mage. Really fun series about a reincarnated archmage, who has come back to a broken and almost magicless world.

Finished The Secret Wisdom of Nature today. While the second book in the series wasn't up to par, this one definitely was a delight.

Finished a re-read of Rivers of London today. Still loving it on the third time through!

Finally finished Wind and Truth. While I liked it just as much as the rest of the series, it took forever to get its hooks in. Felt as if it was a lot of set up for what's to come, but I'm such a sucker for having history/world building trickles out a drop at a time, and this had that in spades.

Just finished a re-read of Children of Time. Really love this book. The way the story weaves through time and describes the creation of the spider culture is amazing.

Just finished The Serviceberry. Went in blind and expected a book about nature, but if anything it was more an essay on gift economies. Definitely not disappointed though.

Looking forward to Braiding Sweetgrass when it's available from my library.

Every now and then it's nice to pick your head up from your book, reacquaint yourself with the world, take a hard pass and immediately go right back to reading. Balance is important.
