Joseph Lister, father of antiseptic surgery, died #OTD 1912. His pioneering work on antiseptic surgery began on the wards at Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he used carbolic acid for the first time. His antiseptic principles & practice revolutionised surgery & saved millions of lives.
