Leqaa Kordia—not a Columbia student but “a simple Palestinian girl,” as she describes herself—is the last remaining campus protester still in detention from the Trump Administration’s crackdown on pro-Palestinian demonstrators in the U.S.

New from me @thenation.com: the farce at Sharm El-Sheikh displays the delusion that led to October 7 and the genocide Israel pursued after it — that the U.S. regional coalition can pursue normalization over the heads of the Palestinians, who are supposed to accept permanent subjugation.
Sharm El-Sheikh Shows That the US Has Learned Nothing From Gaza
Palestinans are expected to accept the same deal that led to October 7: permanent subjugation under the guise of “prosperity.”

updating mock data files always makes the diff ratio look dangerous 🔥
that feels like a close relative to the "I should rebuild this from the ground up" when I should really be refactoring it phase 😅
Made a mini doc telling the story of my friends' hobby-turned-business.

It was a labor of love and my first experience wearing three hats (film/edit/grade).

Enjoy!

This is an absolutely brilliant piece and well worth the read - "'I think the visual lexicon of open-source investigation is something that the Israelis have co-opted as a way to try to delegitimize [those investigations] and confuse,' said Elizabeth Breiner..."
As someone who works with satellite and 3D imagery, this project reinforced how crucial it is to question what’s rendered as truth.

Keep an eye out for some follow ups in different mediums looking ahead

I joke because haha vibe work AND the history of labor automation being applied to justify paying the workers subject to it less/treating them poorly is clear and consistent and not up for debate. So I'm also serious.
Super fun and immediately installed. Always love a good PWA game 🌐

(I still play Proxx @jakearchibald.com and @surma.dev and even got my 7 year old into it!)

Aaaand my #BCON25 #b3d talk is already online!
It was (and is) an amazing experience.

Thank you so much @blender.org OTOY Render-Nnetwork and of course the amazing audience for having me 🥰

Hopefully you can take something away from it 🧑‍🎓

It’s official: the United Nations Commission of Inquiry concludes Israel is committing genocide.

The UN body calls on nations to stop sending weapons to Israel, ensure people within their jurisdiction aren’t aiding or inciting the genocide, and hold those who are accountable.

Svelte's easing fns re-applied to control erosion of gravitational strength over distance in threlte 🚀

Add static gravity sources (suns?) or dynamic bodes (comets?) with their own ~random gravity.

Try it out: stackblitz.com/edit/n-body-...

What an awesome site!

This sent me down a rabbit hole to update a threejs project from two years ago. I'm repurposing easing functions to determine gravity strength over distance with some fun results.

Here is @svelte.dev elasticIn example where you can see the elastic wobble in orbit.
Been having similar experiences. On a related note, this episode of "Mystery AI Hype Theater 3000" about vibe coding is great (covers more than just security). Definitely worth a listen:

Looks like svelte-flow is the way to go these days. Might need to take another look at this in the near future...
Thanks! It's a fun little side project and gave me an excuse to get my hands dirty with Svelte runes.

I really wanted to make it feel more like a node-based editor (like svelvet) but just didn't have the time.

The click-based linking UX is clunky but it'll do for now.
lastly, here is a calculator setup where the product from each clac is linked to the feed in the next. Pretty cool to see how much small tweaks can change the ratios!

Attached here is the WNA graph that shows "how one tonne of natural uranium feed might end up: as 120-130 kg of uranium for power reactor fuel, as 26 kg of typical research reactor fuel, or conceivably as 5.6 kg of weapon-grade material."
