This will be a positive step. Lived experience is key to any initiative. #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs
“The initiative will bring together people with lived experience, carers, advocates, community organisations and public bodies to promote equality, accessibility and recognition of care as a cornerstone of Irish life.”

“Just talk to someone” isn’t always possible when you’re struggling. That’s why we must notice, listen & check in. If someone’s on your mind today, reach out. A simple call or text can change everything.

100% I’ve been following GemTurner for awhile on other platforms and her takes on life is always on the money!!
If you're on social media and not following Gem Turner, I highly recommend finding her.

She's hilarious and shares her perspective on living with disability while gently pointing out how society disables and infantilises people.

Peta Hooke's I Can't Stand pod is great too.

Thank you @amflynn.bsky.social for your cherished friendship and constant support of not only uplifting my voice but other disabled voices too 🔥
Thank you for sharing. It’s just horrific what is happening. How the #IrishGovernment can stand by and let this situation happen is beyond belief.
The fear is real. No child should be left unable to breathe or live in relentless pain.Harvey Sherratt’s death was avoidable. 300+ children are waiting for scoliosis surgery in Ireland some for years.

TBF I was also raging inside but your comment made me chuckle lots of programme smashing around The Hyde yesterday 😢
4 of 5... Today I got to pass a piece of that magic to my two buckos and their friend.
Sharing the love, the pride, the hope.
But what I wouldn’t give to be standing on Anfield Road, singing with the Kop! It’s only a game they say… but for some of us, it’s lifeblood.
(And also… #Mayo4Sam!)
3 of 5 ... Football doesn’t erase the challenges, but it reminds you that you are part of something bigger. What a season.
What a team.
What a connection.
 #ThisMeansMore
2 of 5 ... December 27th, 1994 — my first time at Anfield.
A teenager with a wheelchair and a dream.
The roar, the songs, the belonging — it wrapped around me like family. Six or seven trips later, that feeling still gives me goosebumps.
In 1987, King Kenny sparked a fire in me.
Liverpool became more than a club — it became part of who I am. As a disabled person, "You'll Never Walk Alone" hits different.
It's not just a song.
It’s a reminder that even on the toughest days, I am never truly alone. Thread 1 of 5
Storms like these can be stressful, but by taking a few extra steps, we can all weather it together. Stay safe, stay warm, and remember to check in with your community. 💙 5 of 5

4) Check on Others: If you can, reach out to vulnerable friends, neighbours, or family members to ensure they’re safe and have what they need. 4 of 5
2) Check Your Surroundings: Secure any loose items outside, like bins or garden furniture, to prevent them from becoming hazards.
3) Stay Connected: Charge your phone and ensure someone knows your location and any additional needs you might have during the storm. 3 of 5
