as a child the neighborhood kids and i liked to play a game we called “hobos” it consisted of scavenging for food and drinking from hoses

our guidance counselor neighbor essentially said hobos was a slur so we changed the name of the game to “homeless” 💀

it's sad, but that is just the case. when there's power differential, it changes things. everyone can still be friends, but the workplace dynamic at the very least is altered.
