Liam hummed, his lips twisting to the side. “Actually, if I had to choose, Duncan is more my type.”
Absolutely everyone froze, but no one was more surprised by the declaration than me. I stared, white faced and mouth open like a dying fish, while Ian stood at my side looking positively giddy. I didn’t know what to do. How to respond. My heart was pounding in my ears so loud I couldn’t hear anything else. I looked at him, and he looked at me, and I didn't know why but I knew he wasn’t lying.
Was he flirting?
My head cracked to the side as something impacted my skull. I let out a cry of surprise as a basketball bounced off of my ear and onto the hard concrete. Oscar yelled an apology from the sidelines, but I could barely hear it. It momentarily roused me from my shock.

Liam blinked, then let out a huffing laugh. “Sorry? What did you do to be sorry?” He lifted his hands and tilted my head to the side. I let him.
His skin was rough against my cheek.
“No blood.” He reported, and the touch was gone as fast as it came.
