This made me realize, I watched the first 3 seasons and all I can remember is the Hector plotline making me super uncomfortable, the ending with Alucard, and Trevor punching Dracula

What kills me about Tron Ares is that the most interesting shit about the franchise is the Grid and the evolution of the artificial life within it, so Ares intentionally ignoring that element was a doomed premise to begin with because even Tron fans don't want that

I'm not a filmmaker but I think they shouldn't have shown the grid at all until Kevin goes in. You get abruptly introduced to the world without any context and then it isn't explained for 30 minutes

I also really like the Yakuza trend of making the final guy you fight borderline morally grey just because he's sympathetic and earns your respect, but they're a pawn in some sniveling fuckhead's scheme who's just an unrepentant douche canoe that needs to go

It's one thing I specifically love about fighting games. The most iconic have never had their motivations explained and just revel in being horrible people.

Even when they kinda made Heihachi sympathetic he was sympathetic in one specific facet of his life and was still fully irredeemable lol

I'll say it: I think its rly annoying and frankly amateurish that writers are constantly told their villains must be understandable or have sympathetic motivation to be interesting or realistic when all our big villains irl are in fact rich, stupid, selfish, trickster dillweeds and always have been
