- deus ex doesn't reward you for playstyles like the eidos games, only for accomplishing goals. much of the fun comes from using the various systems to your advantage however you want.

anyway, please play the original. i'll always advocate for an authentic playthrough with compat patches but if you're still hankering for some form of remastering, Revision's free and offers a decently vanilla option once configured a bit. it's even got a steampage, meaning a no-fuss install.

For anyone picking up Deus Ex for the glory of its original aesthetic, Kentie's launcher has done me solid for many years for high resolution+fps+fov settings.
Too many ppl start with the Revision mod, which is like listening to a remix without hearing the original song.
