I was having a chat to my partner's daighter this morning over breakfast and the whole informatin ecosystems and the untouchability of social media platforms due to them being at the heart of the US state & trade wars is at the heart of our problems.

Power and state religion (effectively) are very useful together because you can just codify your state actions with recourse to God, holy texts, and divine desire. Especially if your rulership is part of the divine right approach. If God put me here, then who are you to argue with what I do? 3/n

This tactic allows for all sorts of evils and suffering. Essentially, you can do all sorts of horrible things and then post hoc rationalise that God moves in mysterious ways. 2/n

Yeah, so a lot to say about this. Theists all too often defer to "msyterianism" (I don't know HOW it works, I just know IT DEFINITELY DOES!) and "skeptical theism". This is defined as "Skeptical theism is the philosophical position that questions our ability to understand God's reasons... 1/n
