Imo the single payment license was super worth it for me, I'd recommend for any type of illustration or comics work
But yeah it's best to buy on sale when you can.
Exporting at a smaller size is an extra step but it's a safety measure, really.

An Elezen (elf) name Haurchefant. He has slightly spikey hair that is half tied up into a ponytail at the back.

Some of his hair comes down to the sides of his face and tied around with a white ribbon in a criss-cross lacing. By his left ear are hair accessories of the crescent moon and some white feathers.

Ahh I see, yeah that's very complex, and I admit I don't know enough to really define it any better?
My instinct is to try and make my own version so at least it's a person from that culture doing it.... or not doing it at all. They're options, but that doesn't really solve the argument

I use Clip Studio Paint so I can expory image to a specific percentage or specific size as long as I keep the canvas' ratio
But I know other software can do this too

Imo if someone is wearing smth from their culture they're not perpetuating orientalism, bc it's their culture. The nuances on how to sexually charge something are always abstract bc of what ppl view as sexually acceptable or moral, individually.
But that's just my thoughts!

Make it so they would wear "the sexy version" of something they would wear normally.
For the lack of a better word if it looks empowering and natural for them, imo that's when it's ok.
It's theirs, to use how they please. Others should show more respect.

I think it's a matter of context.
I'm white but as a brazilian I've been sexualised even for just stating my nationality, so I know the type of BR characters out there.
If it's a character in a romantic/flirty setting or personality that doesn't diminish them, isn't out of character, it's ok imo to
