People believe when you become disabled, support magically appears

Many of them think assistance is provided based on how sick you are

It doesn’t work like that

There’s very little support available. You don’t get more when you have a setback… you’re on your own

We need better social supports

I am officially out of PTO and am struggling to get any information from my job on if/when they’ll approve the accommodation to let me back (or deny it and keep me on unpaid FMLA). So any shares are appreciated!

Ok now that I’ve had some time to process everything a bit. My work will not accept an accommodation to let me return so I will be left on (soon to be unpaid) FMLA leave until Dec. I’m hoping to find a new job by then but… yk how that goes

It's been a really scary time of trying to figure out what's going to happen in the future but hopefully we'll learn a lot more at the rheumatologist's appt in December after sooooo many denials earlier this year. Current running theory is maybe mixed connective tissue disease🤷
