The most stressed out I've ever been about Christmas was when I was 16 and I got my first ever job, working at M&S in Dundrum. As soon as I started I kept hearing these myths about the Christmas Eve Waste Sale, where all the food that wasn't sold on the 24th was marked down 90%.

It’s the time of year when I do my Christmas auction. This mouse icon is up for auction and it’s to raise money for Shelter Cymru & Doctors without borders. 100% of the money raised will go to these charities on a 50-50 basis.

The first day of my Nature-inspired Advent Calendar…
tiny candlesnuff candles, each held in a campion seed-head candlestick.
Candlesnuff fungus (Xylaria hypoxylon) is said to be bioluminescent — lit by the light of the moon, no matches required.
A quiet start, glowing softly at winter’s threshold.

Mornin’

Check out this fine Bullfinch breakfasting on blackberry seeds here at #WorldBeeSanctuary today!

A very obvious take away:
the importance of leaving #hedgerows and #nature be. Stop tidying nature.
Stop decimating hedgerows.
Wild creatures need wild spaces all year round.

Simple!

We lived in a pub when I was growing up and when I was 3 (50 years ago!) we had someone in to draw the pub for a business card. I sat next to him and watched him draw every line. I was transfixed and it was a huge inspiration for me. I’ve dreamt about owning that drawing for years…
