And it was the same picture that we'd seen the previous year.
And the year before that.
And ...

(because the same calendar was re-used year after year)
This poem is dedicated to anyone making a start on their advent calendar today.

Don’t think much of the Amazon Black Friday sales. I ordered The Two Ronnies on DVD but instead I got four Kindles

Copying your mate's homework leaves you with shallower knowledge than doing your own homework.

Who knew?

🙄
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Learning With AI Falls Short Compared to Old-Fashioned Web Search
In virtually all the ways that matter, getting summarized information from AI models was less educational than doing the work of search.

We visited #Spitbank fort years ago (90s?).
IIRC, it had just been bought buy a guy with grand plans to do it up, and he was opening it to the public to raise a bit of cash.

It seems that it is now abandoned.

I'm getting reports that a firm is cold calling people "offering grants for renewables and quoting that MARTIN LEWIS had encouraged people to engage with the company."

The call is UTTER BOLLOCKS! This is not true. Don't trust them. Politely disengage and don't speak to them.

It is, surely, utter madness that (almost?) every council in the UK has standardised on exactly the same container (the wheelie bin) for waste/recycling, but *all* of them choose completely different colours to identify them?!

PSA if you’re getting chilly and starting to side-eye ads for plug-in mini wall heaters: DO NOT BUY. Even if they were designed safely the whole premise is asinine and dangerous.
