Wife & momma, progressive dem. YIMBY. Tired but caring. Posts are my own & not on behalf of anyone else or any org, obvi. Life is funnier in Pawnee. Bloomington, MN.
It’s open enrollment at my work. It’s costing me $700/paycheck for health, dental, vision, funding a health savings account at less than my OOP max, and a very modest dependent care account. Just tax us already and give us all single payer health coverage.

Bloomington! We voted early on Saturday. Proud to cast my votes for Danielle Robertson (Council At-Large), and for Bennett/Dymoke/Moore/Steigauf for School Board.

A few months old, but this piece on the impacts of the anti-democratic, anti-worker, anti-immigrant Laken Riley Act was a worth a read. onlabor.org/the-laken-ri...
The Laken Riley Act Doesn’t Just Hurt Immigrants—It Harms All Workers ✦ OnLabor
In 2016 Rajdai Roopnarayan, an immigrant housekeeper in New York City, was arrested after a necklace and some rings went missing from an apartment she cleaned. Any relief Roopnarayan felt the next day...

Day 1 of the Republican Government Shutdown.

Remember: A Republican is in the White House, and Republicans control both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. They are literally in charge, but incapable at leading. They will try to blame Democrats; don’t fall for it.

Right now, Minneapolis can choose a different story than the one people are telling about us – we can choose to believe in the power of us.

Voting is open now until November 4. I hope you'll rank me first on your ballot because Minneapolis deserves better.

At two DFL events over the weekend, U.S. Senate candidate Angie Craig said in her speech ‘we as democrats oppose taking away due process from undocumented immigrants.’

She voted for the Laken Riley Act, which does precisely that.

I’m watching your votes, not your quotes, Angie. For shame.

Angie Craig missed the 1st day of the MN State Fair because she was the opening act for Eric Trump at a GOP Crypto-fest. When she made it to the fair she decided to court GOP voters that hate her by bringing cookies to their booth. Wild campaign choices from someone who wants to replace Tina Smith!

28 party insiders met privately and voted to overturn our endorsement.

Let me be clear, we’re still in this fight. And we’re going to win.

Sometimes you serve the revolution by going to long boring meetings.

LFG. Every open seat on every board OH, caucus, SCC, state committees.
having large campaigns like Ilhan/Keith do what the ADA (Humphreys gang in 44) did- train up 100s of statewide vols & grab every fucking seat out of the SCC, then hold these craven freaks by the institutional throat

From Huey to Ken the DFLs been dictated by suit & tie white supremacy- purge em out
Like. This is a sickness. How does it get fixed??? We can’t just throw new people in like cannon fodder, volunteer your whole life for a year or more and then leave burned out or broken.

My first choice ranking for Mayor goes to whoever will commit to painting the concrete under/around the light rail tracks a bright yellow color so cars stop driving on the tracks. (Does the mayor have input on this? Probably not. Is this still my position? Yes. Do I live in Mpls? No, but if I did!!)

Says a lot about religion, family, and the dearth of freedom in American suburbia that *one family's* religiously motivated plan to build an ADU for people leaving homelessness prompts the city council to deny this request and pause ADU approvals citywide for a year!
Resident’s plan to build backyard dwelling for homeless family prompts Blaine to rethink rules
Blaine allowed accessory dwelling units. But when a resident asked to build one for a homeless family, the City Council hit pause on the idea.

Really proud of our work in the Stonewall DFL caucus to screen all 5 mayoral candidates. Several were good, but Rev. Dr. Davis was phenomenal and was overwhelmingly supported by the political committee & the board. He will be an outstanding mayor for Minneapolis.

seems kind of weird that the vice president of the united states is openly supportive of german neo-nazis!
Not only is he going out of his way to strengthen the European far right, that claim about the Berlin Wall is beyond absurd.

This is a broad strategic alignment away from the liberal democracies toward the global right.

I feel like this is a good time to remind Minneapolis Senior Caucus members who helped us change leadership last month that this is another VERY important meeting to decide the our recommendation mayoral endorsement May 17. Members decide, not leadership. We need everyone to turnout again!

I've read the Court's order denying a Temporary Restraining Order and permitting the Ward 2 Convention to proceed on Sat., May *3*. The Court found that all the major factors to consider in a TRO case except one weighed against the Plaintiffs.

To summarize: this is a political dispute. Work it out.
The order is in: restraining order denied. The Ward 2 Convention will proceed on May 2.

If you can support my dear friend @andrewpatricia.bsky.social with some mutual aid, I would appreciate it. They are the most lovely person and always give so much to the community, and I want to see them have the time they need to rest and recover.
I’m posting this mutual aid ask to help me pay my bills for May. I’m so grateful for everyone who has provided financial support for me right now.
