My takeaway was that the Civil War never actually ended bc the people responsible were never punished and we've been having a civil cold war for the last 150 years thats just boiling over now.

I think a lot of people split their votes and in 2020 it was pretty obvious Trump was going to lose. This time the Trump show will be an albatross around Collins' neck.

Stancil is right about this. I'm a Platner supporter but I'm glad Mills entered the race because beating Mills will be very important signal to everyone that he has the juice to go all the way.

Sure, but China is so big that the working age population would still be bigger than the US even if there are lots of retirees. Also, retirees aren't a big drag on an economy unless you allow a for-profit healthcare system to gouge everyone on costs.

If SCOTUS guts the Voting Rights Act we’ll be facing a permanent Republican House majority because there will be zero representation again of black southerners after the districts are gerrymandered to insure that.
You can take that to the bank.

what do i think would work? focusing on class and race and gender and with a particular focus on progressive-leaning politics that appeal to a large majority of americans, centered around a campaign using MODERN communications. but nobody wants to bother with that.

The funny thing about this is that if someone is afraid of being morally judged by their opinions then at some level they have to believe they're being selfish and immoral. People who truly believe they are right don't mind being judged for it.
