So odd Post Ed Board goes after me to pass a bill allowing autonomous vehicles to enter DC’s market. It’s almost as if Post owner Jeff Bezos & Amazon also own the AV company Zoox currently lobbying the Council… Not sure I caught that disclosure anywhere.

Last week, the Indiana University administration asked their student newspaper not to print any news stories in the Homecoming edition. When the faculty advisor refused, IU fired him and ended paper printing. So students at the Purdue paper printed the IU edition and drove it down to Bloomington!

The special edition blasted across town features columns from IDS and Exponent editors, alongside QR codes to support both student papers.

Rode on them today and it’s beautiful!
The M Street NE protected bike lanes in NoMa *finally* continue through the underpass under the Metro and Amtrak.

This has only been talked about — checks notes — since at least 2015 (ggwash.org/view/38048/n...). #bikedc
Looking forward to the best biking event of the semester!

Enjoying some time in Barcelona! Anything happening in America? No right?!?
Some flowers tucked between an alley, a fence and a basketball court. It’s amazing how nature finds a way to keep on being fabulous even when surrounded by concrete!

This just in from Sinclair: "Beginning Tuesday night Sinclair will be preempting 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming. Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show's potential return."

💯 this. Ebikes replace car trips, not bike trips and are FUN! My life is measurably better because of my ebike. Love starting my day off riding my kid to school. And, to emphasize, agree it is (more than) okay to have fun, even in these very trying times.

Washington, D.C. Councilmember Robert White announces he'll challenge Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton—who is his former boss—in next year's Democratic primary. Norton, 88, has repeatedly insisted she'll run again despite serious concerns about her health and recent job performance.

Glad we’re one step closer to joining our neighbors Maryland and Virginia on this. It’s important that our region continues to have access to safe and effective vaccines without unnecessary barriers.
NEWS: The D.C. Council just passed an emergency bill allowing anyone to get a COVID-19 vaccine without a doctor's prescription, which have been requested recently due to changes in federal vaccine recommendations. (And some D.C. residents have had to go to Maryland or Virginia.)

NEWS: The revised $3.7 billion Commanders stadium deal gets final approval in the D.C. Council, with only @robertwhitedc.bsky.social and @brianneknadeau.bsky.social voting against it. @cmfrumin.bsky.social changed his vote from the first vote in August, and supported the deal. Trayon White was yes.
And now the marquee event of the D.C. Council's legislative session: The debate and vote on the revised Commanders stadium deal!
I’d love to see additional statements by former staff like @robertwhitedc.bsky.social. Now is a good time as ever for demonstrating leadership!

If you believe homeowners and renters shouldn't be taxed out of their neighborhoods, corporations should pay their fair share, and #NewOrleans deserves an Assessor who works for the people - then let's come together to elect Casius Pealer and give our city the leadership it deserves.
