The day I randomly decided to stream video games on Justin TV 13 years ago is the day that will define the rest of my life. As a kid, teenager, and a young adult, I was not very confident in myself. I often wondered if I was really worth anyone's time.

Hate to be a buzzkill because I don't like the guy either, but Phil McGraw himself didn't declare bankruptcy. It was the company, Merit Street Media, that filed bankruptcy. Dr. Phil himself is likely fine.

To address a very viral misinformation post going around the Dead Bird Site, there is no way the viewership neutralization cap is 2 streams. Twitch's own Stream Together product allows up to four streamers to stream together. It makes no sense Twitch would cannibalize everyone who watched all four.

Seeing reports that people are getting strange emails from what appears to be the non-spoofed Discord Support email regarding server subscriptions they didn't ask about. They appear to have random other things mentioned (Epic Games, Jagex, Law Enforcement). I'd change password/clear all logins ASAP.

Not just for viewer count stability but also Twitch does this neat thing where if the streamer plays an ad and you don't see it because you're subbed/Turbo'd, the streamer will still get ad revenue credit as if you watched it. Adblock does mess with that. Turbo supports all streamers in that regard.

The muted stream/tab thing has never been true. I am glad they finally acknowledged the view count fluctuation with ads and saying ad blockers are affecting it. Listen, do what you have to do, but at least whitelist Twitch if you have Turbo or whitelist specific channels that you're subbed to.

Re: the view count post Twitch staff made in the NA Partner Discord I see going around, the rumored number I've always heard for max streams one IP can have on before it disqualifies you as a viewer is 4. If you have 5 or more streams open on one IP, you won't be counted as a viewer in any of them.
