Holy shit, and also, great blessings upon the family of the human recipient mentioned in the article for allowing their loved one with no remaining brain activity to be a test candidate to determine if their body would reject a treated kidney.

This is huge news!
UBC has developed an enzyme that can convert donor organs to type O, making them universal.
Normally a using organs of the wrong blood type causes the recipient's immune system to attack the organ, leading to failure.

Seriously, Pistons...

The fastest way to Long Cövid is exercise and exertion within the first 6-8 weeks...

I see those with plenty of organ injury and ample regrets.

I'm here to educate and caution. I've long given up on trying to persuade...

My 10 cents 🤷🏻‍♂️

Republican Rep. Cory Mills allegedly threatened to release nude images of a 26-year-old woman and to harm her future boyfriends after she ended their relationship.

Now, a judge just ordered Mills, 45, not to come within 500 feet of the defendant & ruled that she is “a victim of dating violence.”

A Florida judge said Rep. Cory Mills had cyberstalked an ex-girlfriend and barred the lawmaker from going near her residence or workplace or referencing her on social media.

🌱Blowsy October in my shockingly overgrown garden garden. Dahlias and roses competing for physical supremacy. Volunteer tomatoes and great lobelias growing as if tomorrow never comes. A single aster from a 1-quart pot spreads over 4 square meters. And these beautiful blossoms:
A “Mystery Day” dahlia opens on a cloudy day amidst a crowd of stalks and support posts. She is a dark crimson “dinnerplate”with white-tipped petals. A cluster of blue-purple heliotrope flowers against their deep green rugose foliage, moist with rain. The dauntless “Eustacia Vye” rose showing off a beautifully quartered multiply double blossom that is light pink on the edges, grading to a center of warm peachy-pink. Against the open flower is a large bud about to open. A vigorous orange puffball dahlia crowds up against and gets support from the previously mentioned Eustacia Vye rose. The background is a row of several types of arborvitae barely restrained by a fence. Who knew, in the middle of summer, that fall would be this exuberant?

There needs to be more coverage of this in the news. I have read so many stories bout this on Facebook, first hand stories of the terror of that storm, and very little coverage n media.

Screenshot of a Facebook post. Photo is an elderly woman holding a child on her ap on a couch with flood water around them. Both are wearing jackets inside. Text says: This was after our 1st drift.. staying put for awhile. Our 3rd and final drift was terrifying. House moving fast then we started spinning in circles. While we were spinning in circles my oldest daughter was just staring at me while I held onto my younger two. Kipnuk doesn't look like kipnuk anymore, like more than 3/4 of the homes displaced, power poles fallen. It smells like stove oil outside. Contaminated

"During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she 'doesn’t look like' a Greeley."

www.yahoo.com/news/article...
Chicago Tribune: Greeley, who was born at Illinois Masonic hospital and is adopted, carries a copy of her passport just in case she runs into federal agents.

“I am Latina and I am a service worker,” Greeley said. “I fit the description of what they’re looking for now.”

During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she “doesn’t look like” a Greeley.

“They said this isn’t real, they kept telling me I’m lying, I’m a liar,” Greeley recalled. “I told them to look in the rest of my wallet, I have my credit cards, my insurance.”

a fake quote being attributed to zohran mamdani is igniting the pro-palestine left.

he never said arresting netanyahu would make him a trumpian fascist. that phrase was posted by an account known for using extreme rhetoric to accuse mamdani of effectively saying that as a result of him softening.
image circulating claiming to attribute a fake quote to mamdani. text reads:
dec. 2024: “as mayor of nyc i would arrest benjamin netanyahu”
sept. 2025: “arresting netanyahu would make me a trumpian fascist.” - this second quote has in big letters over it the words “fake quote.” post from the originator of the phrase. text reads:

@zei squirrel
here you have it side by side. Zohran in December 2024, when he was running in the primary, pledging that he will definitely arrest Netanyahu. Then fast forward to Zohran in September 2025, after he won the primary, and suddenly arresting Netanyahu makes you a Trumpian fascist:

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) is a non-periodic comet discovered by the Mount Lemmon Survey in images obtained on 3 January 2025. It has an inbound orbital period of about 1,350 years and will pass perihelion on 8 November 2025 when it will be 0.53 AU (79 million km; 49 million mi) from the Sun. This perihelion passage will reduce the orbital period to about 1,150 years. It makes its closest approach to Earth on 21 October 2025 and may be visible to the naked eye 42 degrees from the Sun after sunset. As of 12 October 2025, the comet is about apparent magnitude 5.6,[6] and is visible in binoculars about 15 degrees (approximately one and a half fists) below the cup of the Big Dipper. It is currently about 2 degrees southwest of the star Psi Ursae Majoris.

Comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon in the distance beyond a lake and low tree-lined hills. The Big Dipper looms above it.

Description by photographer Petr Horálek:
After many cloudy nights, I was finally lucky again to shoot the brightening comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon, which is currently well found south of the Big Dipper asterism. I took the chance from the shore of Seč Lake, Czech Republic, just shortly before a fog completely covered the lake valley. Despite the strong moonlight, the tail of the comet seems to be significant and most likely will show even nicer structures when dark evenings come again.
