Ein altes Holz-Bollwerk aus dicken, verwitterten Pfählen ragt in ruhigem Wasser geradeaus in die Ferne. Die Aufnahme ist in Schwarzweiß gehalten, wodurch die Maserung des Holzes und die feinen Abstufungen zwischen Himmel und Meer betont werden. Das Wasser erscheint durch die lange Belichtungszeit glatt und weich, fast neblig. Am Horizont verschwimmen Meer und Himmel zu einer hellen Fläche.
