So what's the deal here, lawyers? This constitutional or not? Because if it's not, then elected leaders need to begin giving residents sharper guidance and wider latitude in how they respond and protect their lives and property amid such terror attacks by masked bandits.
Armed ICE agents trapped US citizens in a restaurant and demanded their papers. Federal agents walked into East African restaurants in Cedar-Riverside, MN. They closed and blocked the doors. Then they demanded to see everyone’s papers. Every person present was a US citizen.

I’m not a psychologist or a sociologist so all this is amateur but I’m still amazed at the lack of pride these people have. It’s been about ten years of watching people first indulge, then debase, then dedicate themselves to a clown. It still blows my mind.

It did and it is. Including but certainly not limited to the sky high dictator caricature levels of corruption. Trump and his gang have made the Marcos family look small time in a very short period of time. You can claim American exceptionalism exists. Emphasis on claim
I think one of the biggest reasons it’s happening here is that many people still believe it can’t happen here.
One theme here is the speed of American institutional collapse.
“It took Erdoğan 15 years to do what Trump did in 100 days. If [Americans] do not accept the fact that this is a long game, and it will be brutal, I think you won’t have the patience and stamina to bear it.”

The presidency as we know it should be burned to the ground, and salt the earth. Congress needs a pretty big overhaul, including on the electoral system. But the Court mostly just needs justices who aren't deranged hacks avowedly hostile to fundamental principles of the republic.

I really miss my old twitter experience. I’ve lost track of dozens of people I had genuine connections and ongoing conversations with. For a few years there, during trump1, early covid years, and obviously pre-fuckface, it was such a lifesaver for me.

I've been thinking a lot about this: It's not a war crime, in that WE ARE NOT AT WAR.

It's something even worse than a war crime, I think, with the understanding that war crimes are plenty bad. What's the legal framing of "the President made the decision to start murdering randos on the high seas"?
Duckworth: "It is a war crime. It's illegal. No matter how you put it, it's all illegal. I've been shot down behind enemy lines. Under the laws of war, you are supposed to help render aid to that individual ... you're not allowed to go back in and kill them."

The lack of congressional authorization for murdering people is the original sin?

They live in a bubble of their own importance - they have completely lost the plot.
Himes on the difference between Trump's boat strikes and Obama's drone strikes: "The most important distinction is that Congress authorized the war on terror ... the original sin of this whole thing is that there is no congressional authorization."

The racist court is saying if you consider race to ensure Black people have fair representation that is illegal. If you consider Black people to purposefully disenfranchise and take away power from Black and Brown communities that is legal.

This is a Jim Crow neo-Dred Scott court; say that clearly
A conclusion the Supreme Court majority could reach only by outright lying about the factual record established by the trial court.

The billionaires who own much of the the infrastructure of our 21st century lives have progressively enshittified that infrastructure while expanding their wealth, and then they scold us for being small-souled peasants who don’t believe in progress anymore.
it is amazing how so much tech gets unremittingly worse year on year at whatever you once used it for and less pleasant to use and more bound up with creepy politics as well as personal and environmental harms and yet also still less productive of actual goods and these are somehow great visionaries

The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.

Trump has murdered at least 83 people with extrajudicial military strikes on alleged drug-trafficking boats.

He needs to face consequences for this.

His secretary of DHHS, RFK Jr., will kill several orders of magnitude more with this disinformation.
This is completely disgusting. Today, the CDC updated their vaccine safety page. It now says:

“The claim "vaccines do not cause autism" is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism”.

ICE says video from inside the facility "between October 19, 2025, and October 31, 2025, has been irretrievably destroyed" and can't be produced in discovery.
