Thank you for reporting on this - good to keep people informed @ it. So concerning.. In Asheville post Helene, it’s been really nerve-wracking wanting to pay close attention to potential adverse weather- & not sure with
all the cuts. I believe they do the best they can..( have been on this)

On this day in 1957, U.S. Army troops escorted the Little Rock Nine to Central High School in Arkansas. Less well known—in August 1958 all the city's high schools were closed for a year to resist integration. Students learned through televised lessons, as shown in these photos.

On September 26, 1789, the first six appointments to the #SCOTUS were confirmed by the U.S. Senate. The Judiciary Act of 1789 passed by Congress and signed by President Washington, establishing the Court as a tribunal made up of six justices to serve until death or retirement.
